Terms of Service
Last updated: 30 August 2026
These terms apply to Packaroo, a packaging design and 3D visualisation service operated by Packaroo Pty Ltd (ABN 56 688 342 921) ("Packaroo", "we", "us"). By creating an account you agree to them.
1. What Packaroo does
Packaroo lets you design packaging, preview it in 3D, share it for approval, and generate a Spec Pack: a single download containing the files a packaging converter needs in order to quote and produce your packaging.
Designing, previewing and sharing are unlimited on every plan, including the free one. Generating a Spec Pack is the part that is paid for.
2. What a Spec Pack contains, and what it does not
This section is the most important one in this document. A Spec Pack contains:
- Dimensions, structural code, board, flute and finish
- The dieline, showing cut, crease, safe area and bleed
- Your artwork at 300 DPI with 3mm bleed
- 3D views of the finished pack
- A prepress check report
- A specification sheet formatted for a supplier
It is not press-ready artwork. Specifically, and stated plainly because you should know it before you buy:
- The artwork is raster, not vector
- It is RGB, not CMYK
- The dieline is not on a named spot separation
Your printer will carry out prepress from your final artwork. A Spec Pack is a handover and quoting document, not a plate-ready file.
Dimensions and specifications are provided as accurately as we can state them, and some are derived from published or measured references rather than from your chosen manufacturer's own tooling. Where the product marks a figure as estimated, it is estimated. Manufacturing tolerances, board specifications, coating behaviour and finishing allowances vary between converters, between machines, and between production runs.
3. Before you produce: your responsibility
This section allocates a real responsibility to you. Please read it.
Packaroo is a design and specification tool. It is not a manufacturing service, a prepress bureau, or a substitute for your converter's own checks. We do not manufacture your packaging, we do not inspect your artwork on press, and we have no visibility of the machine, board, tooling or ink your converter will actually use.
Before committing any design to a production run, you must:
- Send the Spec Pack to your manufacturer and have them confirm it. They are the only party who can tell you whether it works on their tooling.
- Obtain a physical proof or sample and approve it by eye.
- Confirm every dimension against your manufacturer's own specification, particularly any figure the product marks as estimated.
- Have your printer complete prepress from your final artwork, since a Spec Pack is not press-ready (see section 2).
You accept that going to production without doing these things is your decision and at your risk. A 3D preview is a visualisation, not a proof. An approval recorded through a share link is a record of what somebody saw on a screen, not a manufacturing sign-off.
4. Your account
You need an account, and a working email address, to use Packaroo. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your login details to yourself. Tell us promptly if you think somebody else has access.
You must be able to enter a contract. If you are using Packaroo for an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it.
5. Your content
Your artwork and designs remain yours. We claim no ownership of anything you upload or create.
You grant us only the licence we need to run the service: to store your files, display them to you, render them into previews and Spec Packs, and show them to anybody you deliberately share a link with. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account, other than for backups that expire on their normal cycle.
You are responsible for having the right to use what you upload. Do not upload artwork, fonts, trademarks or images you are not licensed to use.
We do not use your designs to train machine learning models.
6. Plans, allowances and payment
Plans. Free, Pro and Pro Max. What each includes is set out on the pricing page, and the allowances there form part of these terms.
Spec Pack allowances are a monthly entitlement, not a stored balance. Your allowance refreshes at the start of each billing period. Unused packs do not roll over, and there is no accumulating balance to be spent later or refunded.
Re-downloading a Spec Pack you have already generated is always free, on any plan, including after your allowance is used up and including after you cancel, for as long as the project exists in your account. Generating a pack for a changed design is a new pack and uses a new allowance.
Failed generations do not cost you anything. If a Spec Pack fails to generate, the allowance is returned to your account automatically.
Prices are shown in Australian dollars and are exclusive of any applicable sales tax. Where tax applies, it is calculated and shown at checkout before you pay.
Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. Payment is taken on the renewal date using your saved payment method.
We may change prices. If we do, we will tell you by email before the change takes effect, and it will not apply until your next renewal after that notice. You can cancel before then.
Single Spec Packs may also be bought individually without a subscription.
7. Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from your billing settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for - you keep your plan, and its allowance, until then. We do not pro-rate part-months.
After cancelling, your account reverts to the free plan. Your projects and any Spec Packs you have already generated remain available to you.
8. Complimentary and promotional access
We sometimes grant free access for a period. Complimentary access has no payment method attached and never converts into a paid subscription: when it ends, the account simply returns to the free plan, and you are not charged. Promotional codes are subject to whatever terms are stated when they are offered.
9. Failed payments
If a payment fails we will retry it and let you know. Your access continues during that retry period. If payment ultimately cannot be taken, the subscription ends and the account returns to the free plan. Projects and previously generated Spec Packs are not deleted for non-payment.
10. Refunds
Set out separately in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
11. Availability
We work to keep Packaroo available and to keep your work safe, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We may need to suspend access for maintenance, and we will try to give notice where a change is planned.
Keep your own copies of anything you rely on. Download your Spec Packs rather than treating your account as your only copy.
12. Acceptable use
Do not use Packaroo to infringe anybody's rights, to produce packaging for goods that are illegal to sell, to attack or overload the service, or to attempt to reach data belonging to other users. We may suspend an account that does.
13. Sharing and approvals
Share links are unguessable URLs. Anybody holding one can view the shared design and leave comments or an approval, without an account. Treat a share link as you would the file itself. You can revoke a link at any time.
An approval recorded through a share link is a record of what that person saw and clicked. It is a proofing tool, and whether it carries contractual weight between you and your client is a matter between you and them.
14. Our liability
Read this with section 3.
14.1 Your rights that cannot be excluded
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded. If any part of these terms would do so, that part does not apply to the extent of the inconsistency, and the rest of these terms continue to operate.
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
14.2 Limitation of remedy
Packaroo is supplied for use in business and is not of a kind ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household use or consumption. To the extent permitted by section 64A of the Australian Consumer Law, where we fail to comply with a consumer guarantee our liability is limited, at our option, to:
- resupplying the services; or
- paying the cost of having the services resupplied.
This limitation does not apply where it would not be fair and reasonable for us to rely on it.
14.3 Losses we are not responsible for
Subject to 14.1, and to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:
- Manufacturing, printing, tooling, plate, shipping or production costs, including the cost of a run that has to be repeated;
- Loss of profit, revenue, goodwill, anticipated savings, business opportunity or reputation;
- Indirect or consequential loss of any kind;
- Loss arising from a design, dimension, specification or artwork that was not verified with your manufacturer, and confirmed by physical proof, before production as required by section 3;
- Loss arising from your use of artwork, fonts, images or trademarks you were not licensed to use;
- Loss arising from a share link that you distributed, or that a recipient passed on.
14.4 Cap
Subject to 14.1 and 14.2, our total liability arising out of or in connection with these terms is limited in aggregate to the greater of AUD $100 and the total amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
14.5 Your responsibility to us
You are responsible for loss we suffer arising from your breach of section 13 (acceptable use) or from your uploading content you did not have the right to use. This is limited to the extent the loss was caused by us.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights we will email you before it takes effect. Continuing to use Packaroo after that means you accept the updated terms.
16. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
